“In the beginning is the relationship.” -Martin Buber

My name is Richard Baughan and I am a Senior Accredited Registered Member of the Bristish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and have  over 25 years experience of offering counselling / psychotherapy to individuals, couples and groups in private practice and universities

I have also been studying and practicing mindfulness meditation for 25 years and more recently have been offering  ‘insight mindfulness’ sessions to individuals and small groups.

I offer a safe, non-judgmental and confidential space where you can look into issues, develop understanding and make changes affecting you life and relationships. It is also a safe space to learn and practice mindfulness and  develop calmness, equanimity and self compassion.

Counselling/psychotherapy and mindfulness are different ways of learning to  be easier on yourself and can lead to better relationships with self and others.

I now live and work in Blakeney, North Norfolk and offer the following services in Norfolk and elsewhere:

Counselling / Psychotherapy
Mindfulness

Supervision
Groupwork

Hopefully these pages may give you enough information to help decide whether you think counselling / psychotherapy is for you and enough info about me to enable you to determine  if  we might be able to form a productive therapeutic relationship.

I am committed to respecting the rights and authority of all clients.

The bud
stands for all things,
even for those things that don’t flower,
for everything flowers, from within, of self-blessing;
though sometimes it is necessary
to reteach a thing its loveliness,
to put a hand on the brow
of the flower
and retell it in words and in touch
it is lovely
until it flowers again from within, of self-blessing
